Bees are active today

I wanted to video my bees after I re-queened last Wednesday.

We got honey....

This is the only batch of honey we've been able to produce this year. Next year will be better given we will have the hive all winter.

Pictures of what I pulled out yesterday....

I had to get a strainer and I got about 4 full jars after it was said and done. Again, I am hopeful for next year and the supply. I'm trying to convince my wife that we need to put 4 more hives on her dad's land so that we can start making some money selling this local honey. She's really enjoying it more.

I had to re-queen this past week....

Checking on my bees after re-queening on Wednesday. I wanted to have some good video's to show what my bees look like now versus in 6mths. Because, the new queen is a carniolan and the bees should be great in 6 weeks. The bees I had before were italian and they were getting somewhat aggressive. So..wish us luck as I'm interested to see how this type will do.
